Scene Around Town: Cattle Baron's Ball and Folds of Honor

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s January 14 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from the 2021 Cattle Baron’s Ball held at Gilley’s Dallas with award-winning country music favorite Dierks Bentley performing on the Andrews Distributing Main Stage. Diana Hamilton and Heather Randall returned to serve as chairmen for an unprecedented second year after the pandemic caused cancellation of the 2020 ball. The efforts raised $3,665,700 for the American Cancer Society. Also featured were scenes from the 2021 Annual Folds of Honor Gala. The night was full of emotion and entertainment all while paying homage to the patriots who so bravely fought for our freedom. The night ended in celebration as it was announced that the Folds of Honor North Texas gala raised $1,952,640 which will allow them to provide more than 390 educational scholarships to our deserving military families.
