Scene Around Town: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Stewpot Alliance

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s March 8 issue, I was pleased to share highlights from Saint Valentine’s Day Luncheon & Fashion Show where more than 600 attendees gathered to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society raising more than $750,000 for the 40th anniversary event. Also featured are scenes from the 16th annual Stewpot Alliance Soup’s On Luncheon and Art Show. Leah Jordan and Eric Swindle along with Michelle and Rudy Segura co-chaired the sold-out event benefiting The Stewpot where Dallas-area chefs prepare delicious soups for attendees.  Funds raised serve our neighbors who are experiencing and at risk of homelessness by providing a range of services.
