Scene Around Town: Farrah Fawcett Foundation and Interfaith Family Services

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s September 30 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from the Farrah Fawcett Foundation who recently hosted a screening of the documentary ‘Farrah’s Story' which shares Fawcett’s intimate journey of battling cancer to raise awareness for the Foundation’s October 20th Tex-Mex Fiesta Benefit, featuring a performance by Sheryl Crow and benefitting the American Cancer Society and Stand Up to Cancer. Also featured were scenes from the recent 15th Annual Interfaith Golf Classic recently held at Royal Oaks Country Club which raised $126,735 to benefit the nonprofit organization Interfaith Family Services and its mission to empower families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty.
