Scene Around Town: Dallas Museum of Art League and AWARE

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s March 4 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from the Art in Bloom 2022 announcement party where Chairs Sila Grogan and Cat McDonough announced Lone Star Monarchs as the title sponsor for Art in Bloom 2022: Art of the Jewel event benefiting Dallas Museum of Art , as well as The Adleta Corporation and Debbie Heller Myers as 2022 presenting sponsors, at a January 19 luncheon hosted by Barenda Hino. Art in Bloom 2022: Art of the Jewel will be held on Monday, March 7 at the Dallas Museum of Art. Founded in 1938, the League is celebrating 83 years of contributions through volunteer work for the Museum, art acquisitions and the support of key endowment funds. 

Lee Roy and Biddie Jordan were recently announced as the honorary chairs for AWARE Affair 2022 Soaring to New Heights Fighting Alzheimer’s at the gala’s Kick-Off Party held at HALL ARTS Hotel. Mari Epperson and Sharon Ballew will serve as AWARE Affair chairs. with Sally and Forrest Hoglund, Kim and David McDavid, Jr., Ellen Terry with her daughter, Amy Terry Kriegel and son, Todd Terry serving as honorary chairs emeriti, AWARE is dedicated to fighting Alzheimer's disease by providing funding and support to programs, projects, and research provided by nonprofit organizations that actively help individuals affected by Alzheimer's in Dallas and the greater North Texas area.

  • You must ID the people in each photo (left to right)

  • Tell me the name of the event, the location of where it was held, and provide a brief description of the event

  • Please send one event submission per email with the name of the event in the Subject line
