Scene Around Town: The Family Place and DSOL Debutantes

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s February 25 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from a holiday reception where the 2022 Dallas Symphony debutantes were honored at a seated dinner at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. The debutantes, honor guards and their families were welcomed by Dallas Symphony Orchestra League President Venise Stuart and Presentation Ball Chair Elizabeth Gambrell. The event chair was Susan Averitt Duvall. Each of the 48 debutantes was formally introduced by emcee Stan Gardner and joined by an honor guard escort for the presentation. A debutante presentation gift was presented by Eiseman NorthPark Center. Park Place was a special contributor for the evening.

Also featured were images from a special evening hosted by The Family Place that honored this year’s Texas Trailblazer Award recipient and recently former CEO, Paige Flink, for her 30 years of devotion and service to victims of family violence. Since 1996, the Texas Trailblazer Award has honored those who create positive change in the community. This year’s recipient has gone above and beyond implementing this mission by empowering survivors to lead lives free from abuse. Colleagues, philanthropists, and other North Texas leaders filled the ballroom at the Thompson Dallas hotel in an outstanding turnout for a night full of emotional tributes, fundraising, and entertainment.
