Scene Around Town: Farrah Fawcett Foundation, Texas Women's Foundation and Wilkinson Center

As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s December 2 issue, I was pleased to spotlight photos featuring highlights from the Hispanic 100 Latina Giving Circle at Texas Women’s Foundation awarded $115,000 in grants to 30 North Texas area nonprofits serving the needs of Latina women and girls in low- and moderate-income communities. More than 170 attendees joined Friends of The Wilkinson Center at the recent Spirit of Taos event to raise funds that will help transform the lives of Dallas families in crisis. Lastly, co-chairs Alana Stewart and Jaclyn Smith brought the Farrah Fawcett Foundation Tex-Mex Fiesta to Dallas. Held at The Rustic, funds raised will benefit Stand Up To Cancer and American Cancer Society.
