Yayoi Kusama’s Pumpkins Installation Returns to the DMA

Return to Infinity: Yayoi Kusama. Courtesy Ota Fine Arts, Victoria Miro, and David Zwirner.

For the first time since 2018, the DMA will install Yayoi Kusama’s All the Eternal Love I Have for the Pumpkins, an iteration of the artist’s iconic Infinity Mirror Rooms incorporating one of the artist’s quintessential symbols, the pumpkin. This boundary-pushing experiential work draws on several of Kusama’s characteristic themes, including infinity, the sublime, and obsessive repetition, allowing the viewer to literally become a part of the art.

Timed tickets are required for the Return to Infinity: Yayoi Kusama exhibition due to the artist’s popularity and the installation’s design, which accommodates only two people at a time. Timed tickets ensure entry at a specific date and time. The exhibition is designed to be experienced for 45 seconds, as per the artist's intent, with a room attendant escorting you in and out. Photography is allowed with use of cell phones and small personal cameras. Flash, tripods, and selfie sticks are prohibited in the exhibition and the Museum galleries.

Tickets are on sale now. Members see the exhibition early, during Member Preview Days, May 1–4, 2025. Learn how members get more and sign up for your membership at dma.org/support/become-a-member.  Share your experience using #DMAKusama on social media.
