Dallas Contemporary Launches Refreshed Summer Programming Series

The Dallas Contemporary Summer Series is returning for summer 2025 with a renewed curatorial vision, expanded programming, and exciting new partnerships. Spanning June through August, this year’s series activates Dallas Contemporary’s expansive space with day and night events designed to complement and interact with current exhibitions. Expect an engaging mix of performances, site-specific interventions, pop-ups, and more. Summer Series events are free for DC members. Summer Series Launch Party + Opening Celebration of Masahiro LaMarsh: Anticlastic

This exhibit features custom-made grillz by LaMarsh, a New York-based jeweler who uses traditional metalsmithing techniques to render highly-intricate, often bejeweled pieces worn over the teeth. The exhibition, curated by Alexandra Hulsey, highlights the parallels between architectural forms and personal adornment in a body of work that is grounded in craftsmanship and archival references, balancing classical associations with the contemporary, intimate nature of grillz. Creating a dialogue between historical and modern expressions of identity through adornment, Anticlastic asserts that grillz are a storied and significant art form.

DC EMPTY: Danielle Georgiou Dance Group

The Danielle Georgiou Dance Group (DGDG) is an ensemble-based, collaborative dance theatre group that works within the ideas of contemporary dance and physical theatre. DGDG explores the experimental and avant-garde nature of dance and theatre in their creations of original dance musicals and dance plays. The artists of DGDG constantly strive to transform themselves, either in image or skill. They work to create pieces that question what dance is and can be while pushing the boundaries of theatre.
